Sign the petition, make the difference

President-elect Obama is committed to building a clean energy economy, but oil and coal companies are spending millions to prevent change. Speak up for change. Speak up for your support of a new, clean energy America.

Clean Air Act, Cap-N-Trade Benefit All

OhioLCV staffer Micah Vieux recently had this letter to the editor published in the Akron Beacon Journal.

We must rebuild the economy in Ohio and across with nation with new, clean energy. A new energy policy, including a cap-and-trade provision for CO2 and other green house gases, holds the promise of generating millions of new jobs, nearly 80,000 of them in Ohio. Our failed energy policy has worsened the economic downturn, fueled global warming, and hurt working families trying to make ends meet. Converting America's pollution-based economy to one fueled by clean, home-grown energy is an opportunity for historic transformation: Repowering, refueling, and rebuilding America.

On the 17th of December, Micah Vieux, Director of Climate Change and Sustainability Programs for the Ohio League of Conservation Voters, traveled to Cincinnati to help release Environment Ohio's new report "What's At Stake." The new report details how global warming threatens the Buckeye state economically and environmentally. The Cincinnati Enquirer ran an article after the press conference: Click here to see the Enquirer's write up.
